Sea on One Side, City on the Other

Hakodate isn’t a large city, but its geography makes it feel like one. One side’s the port, the other side’s the mountain. You can look straight out at the sea, or climb up to see the whole city from above.

These photos were taken while moving—from the dock, along the streets, up the hill. With every few steps, the view changes. It made me realize: a city isn’t just a place—it’s all the different ways you can look at it.

函館這座城市不大，但它的地形讓觀看這件事變得有趣。一邊是港口、一邊是山；你可以在海邊往水平線看，也可以走上函館山，從上往下看整座城市。

這些影像是在移動的過程中拍下的，從碼頭、燈塔、街道到山頂。每走幾步，就會有不同的視角。這讓我意識到：同樣的城市，只要換個角度，就能變得很不一樣。
